Every Wednesday a blogger will be featured for Simply Adventurous’ Spotlight of the Week. I am so excited to share with you a new and different blog and/or brand. Each writer will also be writing for my lovely readers!
Hi, my name is Amber and I live in Sacramento, California. I am a blogger who predominantly shares recipes inspired by entertainment and creates beauty recipes using food grade ingredients. I am also a guitar hobbyist of 15 years.
As a huge fan of anime, video games and cartoons, my creative inspiration as a professional cook and guitar aficionado are derived from these sources of entertainment. I secretly want to become a voice actor for animation + video games
Why did you start a blog?
I started blogging while recovering from a restaurant related injury. I wanted a creative outlet relevant to food. The rest is history!

Autumn Spice Shortbread Cookies:
Shortbread is one of the simplest of cookie recipes, so today I am sharing a yummy cookie perfect for fall!
Ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter (cold)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp orange zest
1/2 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Directions:
In a food processor, combine all ingredients until a firm dough ball forms.
Let dough rest in fridge for about 30 minutes.
Portion cookie dough onto a parchment lined sheet tray.
Bake at 350 for 15-18 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar (optional).
Your cookies will be flaky thanks to incorporating cold butter, and pumpkin pie spices lends your home the aroma of fall!
