Thank you to Savor for sponsoring this post. As always all opinions are honest and my own – I share products that I own and love.
Better late than never, but I am finally sharing how I store my wedding keepsakes. They’ve been sitting in random places around my house since our wedding (a little over a year, whoops!). I wasn’t sure how I was going to store them and looked for several storage options, but nothing caught my eye. Just empty boxes with no sort of system.
Organizing My Wedding Keepsakes
The first thing that I did after our wedding was dry clean and preserve my dress. I didn’t want any stains or dirt to settle in too much, so I took my dress in the Monday after our big day (we got married on a Friday).
We threw all of the fresh flowers away after they died and my sweet friend and florist gifted me a necklace with our flowers bottled up. But I still had so many wedding items with no clue what to do with them – and better yet, which ones do I keep and not keep? Do I need all of the extra invitations, the center pieces, the decor?
Then, I came across the Wedding Edition Keepsake Box by Savor. It was perfect. Not only was it a keepsake box (hence the name), but it was specially created to store wedding mementos. Savor boxes are handcrafted, custom-dyed fabric boxes that look like elegant books when stored. There are two of them – one has 5 drawers and the other is similar to a filing system for important papers.
This gorgeous, super simple system helps you organize, enjoy, and store your most important keepsakes from the first date through engagement to your first anniversary. Acid-free drawers hold treasured mementos, from your boutonniere to a garter, while vertical files hold key documents, including invitations, guest books, table decorations, and more.
Storing My Keepsakes using Savor
I think my two favorite things about the wedding keepsake box is the fact that 1) they give you pre-made labels to help you categorize where everything should go 2) the storage box is absolutely stunning and looks gorgeous in any room.
Some items I knew I wanted to store included:
- Vow Books
- Polaroid Photos
- Ring Boxes
- Cake Topper
- Notes from Family + Friends
Kit and I took an afternoon to reminisce on our wedding day. I really wanted to do it around our 1 year anniversary to celebrate, but life happens, so we planned a date night instead and put our keepsake box together as our activity (fancy, right? LOL).
Deciding which items went where and labeling was probably my favorite part, plus the labels are so classy! Also, the vellum envelopes that we used to store the invitations were a great touch to the entire keepsake box. We were very impressed.
Memories that Live On
When it comes to remembering one of the best days of my life, I know that I’ll have this keepsake box to share with my children and eventually their children. For now, Kit and I get to use this box to not only store moments from our wedding day, but also from our anniversaries for years to come.
