Wedding Wednesday: My Engagement Story

This summer I was studying abroad in Italy for a month and then two weeks of traveling. On August 5th, I traveled to Rome to meet up with a friend, D, who was backpacking through Europe. **Side Note**: This was one of the HOTTEST summers Italy has seen in over 125 years and on this day, I walked for hours in 100 degree weather for the past couple of days with 90-95% humidity. Talk about death during this wait.

Back to my engagement story, I was suppose to meet up with our mutual friend D, who told me he couldn’t meet until after 5pm. When we met up, he was very adamant about taking photos and he said he had found a spot that had a great view of the Colosseum and would be good for photos. He took my camera and asked how to work the HD video recording and as I proceeded to show him, he began filming….our feet as we walked. So we finally got to our destination and as I was standing there smiling he kept telling me to say “hi” to Kit and say you wish he was here and we could send it to him. I semi-argued as I told him to take it on my phone because I could send it more quickly. He convinced me to just do it, so I did and as I was saying it K walked up from the steps on the side and all I remember was him saying “Fancy meeting you here”. I was so surprised and couldn’t help but ask a bunch of questions that I really did not need the answers to. Then all of the sudden K started saying all these beautifully romantic words that I could not comprehend at the moment and said how much he loved me and how he wants to spend his life with me and then got down on one knee and popped the question!

It was the most exhilarating experience and definitely one that I will share for many years with my family and friends. I cannot wait to share the video…but it will be a while since it is a surprise for our wedding guests! So that’s that for my engagement story! Where did you get engaged?

We are in the process of wedding planning & have very little details set in stone: Spring. Navy’s, Light Oranges, Lavenders, Succulents, lots of lace…

We have no date, location, photographer, caterer, pretty much everything still needs to be planned out.
