Now do not get me wrong, I cannot wait to get MARRIED! It is the one moment I have been waiting for my entire life…besides the one where I have a cutie kiddo! But what is the rush? Okay, I may have no room to say that because all my life I have been waiting and waiting for it and boy, I am not very patient when it comes to things that I want. But then it happened… K proposed and we are officially ENGAGED.
Yep. Engaged. I am okay with being engaged for now. Most people would start the wedding planning right away and not wait one more second. I have known people and have had friends that have leaped into getting married within 3 months after the proposal. Although, that was their choice and personal beliefs, that is definitely not for me.
One, I need time to plan the wedding! I am so organized and detailed and the perfectionist in me bursts at the seams when everything is not the way I envisioned it.
Two, I want to see all of my options. I want to finish my last year of school and look at different outlets to pursue my career goals so that K and I can find a place to settle down in once we finish school.
Three, I love being ENGAGED! I want to enjoy being engaged and all the perks that come with it. I want to spend quality time with K, I want to learn more about him each day, I want to go on new adventures, I want to see where our new ventures take us. I want to go to all the bridal shows, I want to try on a lot of dresses, I want to look at all the wedding magazines, plus look at all the events and items they have out there for bride-to-be’s, I am so taking advantage of that.
Being engaged is another chapter in my life, just like friendship, college, dating, marriage. I want to enjoy it for the next year and a half. So I am okay with being engaged for now. Eventually, I will get married and it will be the happiest day of my life, but for now, getting proposed to in Rome was nothing short of amazing and I want to cherish that for a little while.
As an engaged couple and as a bride to be, I am so excited to have found companies who thrive on making it the best journey! My sweet friend, Kate bought me the Southern Weddings Planner, which I have been drooling over since I followed their Instagram over the summer.
I also stumbled upon Tulle La La, which has not let me down so far. It is a a monthly Wedding Journey Tulle Box for Brides. A few weeks ago, I received the sweetest box congratulating me on my engagement and gifting me a few items I would have never thought of buying! I love all of my items and this subscription box is all part of the engagement chapter journey.
Have you heard of Tulle La La?
