Do you find yourself constantly spending money on facial cleansers and/or acne treatments? If you are anything like me, the answer to that is ABSOLUTELY YES. I have tried almost every drug store face wash and acne treatment and I always end up with the same result–dry and not blemish free skin. It is one of the most discouraging feelings to know that your first impression with someone could be taking a look at the blemishes on your face, especially those zits that pop up right when you rise and shine.
Your skin is SO important and finding the right facial cleanser for you is worth looking into. Over the last 4 years I have purchased the original Proactiv as well as the Extra Strength, which I thoroughly enjoyed. For the past 90 days, I have had the pleasure of using the new Proactiv+. I was very excited when I received it in the mail, because I have been wanting to try it, since I have had good results with Proactiv in the past–and how could you not want to try it, when Adam Levine and Julianne Hough are supporting it on TV?
DAY 1: They say when you first start using Proactiv+, that sometimes you tend to break out before you start seeing your face clear up. Within the first three weeks, this happened to me. I broke out all over and wanted to hide in a closet–okay maybe not a closet, more so a fridge…so I could eat. It took everything in me to not just try and cover it all up with makeup, as I knew that would just worsen everything. So I embraced it and just let my skin be free.
Day 30: I was still having a bit of trouble and my face was starting to dry out more and more. I have always had super soft skin and seeing it dry itched me in all the worst places. I decided to use the Step 2 once every other day, instead of twice a day. I hoped that this would help with my dry, flaky skin (which I never had before!).
Day 60: Alright, so my super pain in the tush dry skin got better. The flakiness and peeling went away, but it still felt dry. Aside from the dryness, my skin was looking clearer! I still had some blemishes, in places that I usually never have them, but my skin looked clearer! I was happy, but still dissatisfied with the dryness. Fortunately, I was able to contact the Proactiv+ team and they asked me if I wanted to try the Clarifying Night Cream and include it in my daily and nightly routine. It could not have been a better decision!
Day 90: My skin is so much clearer than when I started out! The Clarifying Night Cream is absolutely wonderful. I not only love the way it makes my skin feel before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning, but it smells divine. I also have seen previous acne scars fade and/or completely go away!
Here are a few things I love {besides the RESULTS!}:
– It is THREE easy steps
– Night Cream smells WONDERFUL and I always want to reapply it!
– Works well with my Clarisonic Mia 2
Everyone’s skin is different and not everyone will react to facial cleansers the same. My results may differ than yours, may be worse or may be better–but how will you know until you give it a shot? I love that Proactiv has a trial period for you to try it out and I know that I really loved using Proactiv+ and I am going to continue to use it.
Note: I used my previously purchased Clarisonic Mia 2 once a day with the Proactiv+ for that extra deep clean.
Have you ever used Proactiv Products? How was your experience?

I haven’t used ProActiv in YEARS, but I remember liking the results. I am interested in using their skincare line. I think it’s called Rodan & Fields.
Hi Chrissy! Yes, the Proactiv+ skincare line looks very interesting! I have had a lot of good luck as well as great customer service with Proactiv+ so I would definitely be interested to see how well their skincare line works.
I have friends that have had wonderful luck with Proactiv!
All facial cleansers are a hit and miss, you have to find what works best for your skin, because what may work for someone else may not work for you! I have tried hundreds and Proactiv+ is one of the few I have had good luck with. I am glad your friends have had good luck!
It’s been awhile since I used Proactiv! I do like their new packaging :)… I agree that everyone’s skin is different, actually I heard some people said that Proactiv does not work that we’ll on Asian skins but I guess it depends.

Hi Alyssa! I LOVE the new packaging! Very simple and easy to use. I am half Vietnamese and half Sicilian and I so far I have had good luck. It definitely depends on your skin though! I have never heard that before, I will have to ask some friends who have used it that are of that ethnicity!
I’ve never had a good experiencing with any of the Proactiv face washes, but I do use their mask on my blemishes. Even though my face is super oily, Proactiv dried it out LIKE CRAZY and my breakouts just never seemed to get better.
Hi Tori! I am sorry your experience was not the best. My face dried out a lot and then I limited my use of the Step 2 as well as started using their Clarifying Night Cream. It helped me so much more and my face is NEVER dry anymore. As always, every person’s skin is different and we all experience facial cleansers in a different way. Hopefully, you found a cleanser that works well for your skin!
I used to love using proactiv in high school! I don’t know why I moved away from it, but I also love using my Clarisonic. Such a deep clean!
Hi Brenda! I used Proactiv in high school and then stopped for a couple years. I am back to using it now and I love using my Clarisonic with it!
I have heard so many good and bad reviews – seems like if it works it really works and you love it; otherwise you hate it.
There are always tons of reviews for everything, especially Proactiv+. When it comes down to it, I always feel like you have to try it yourself to know for sure. That is why I love the trial period!
Your skin looks fabulous in your profile photo. I’m so glad it’s working for you!
Thanks Kelly! I love, love, love using it!
Your skin looks great in those pictures! Fortunately I have never had a skin iusse problem but my two children going through the hormonal changes are starting to show signs of acne and I have thought about trying proactiv for them.
Hi Brenna,
Yeah those changes hit us when we are least expecting it! You should definitely give Proactiv a shot!
